Seth Lui's September 2026 washing list names 85 hawker centres and markets islandwide. Eleven of them sit in Jurong, Clementi, Bukit Batok, and the West Coast stretch this site covers. Yuhua Village Market and Food Centre at Blk 254 Jurong East Street 24 shuts 7 to 8 September, which is tomorrow and Monday if you are reading this on 6 September. Do not make a zi char run there this weekend.
These are scheduled spring-cleaning closures, not renovations. Stalls come back the next trading day. Clementi 448 only reopened on 29 June after a three-month R&R, so a two-day wash in late September is irritating if you just got your fried carrot cake habit back. It is still two days, not three months.
7 to 15 September: Jurong East first
Yuhua Village, 254 Jurong East Street 24, 7 to 8 September. Nearest MRT is Chinese Garden or Jurong East, then a short bus. If that is your Saturday zi char or porridge stop, shift to Yuhua Market at Blk 347 Jurong East Avenue 1 for those two days. Then flip it. Blk 347 itself closes 14 to 15 September, so the two Yuhua centres are not down at the same time.
Same 14 to 15 September window hits 505 Jurong West Market and Food Centre at Jurong West Street 52. That is the Hong Kah Point block with Du Du Shou Shi tutu kueh, Jian Bo Shui Kueh, and Soh Kee Cooked Food, the three Michelin Bib names that returned after the late-2024 renovation. Ayer Rajah Food Centre at 503 West Coast Drive is also 14 to 15 September. Ayer Rajah Market at 502 West Coast Drive is listed for 14 September only. 353 Clementi Avenue 2 Food Centre matches 14 to 15 September.
West Coast Town Council's own 2026 washing calendar agrees on 505 for 14 to 15 September and Ayer Rajah Food Centre for the same dates. Use the Seth Lui roundup as the islandwide list and the town council page if you live in those estates and want the official notice.
21 to 23 September: JW50 and Bukit Batok West
Jurong West Hawker Centre at 50 Jurong West Street 61, the JW50 building near Pioneer, shuts 21 to 23 September. That is three days, longer than most on this list. Pioneer MRT is the stop. If you use the upstairs Western stalls or the sheng jian bao there, eat on the 20th or wait until the 24th.
Bukit Batok West Hawker Centre at 469 Bukit Batok West Avenue 9, Harmony Village, is 21 to 22 September. It is still the only full hawker centre in Bukit Batok, so those two days dump demand onto coffee shops along Bukit Batok East and West Avenues. Boon Lay Place Food Village at 221A Boon Lay Place is 21 to 22 September on the Seth Lui list. West Coast Town Council had Boon Lay down for 14 to 17 September on its own calendar. If you are going for Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak, check the stall's own notice the week before. The two lists do not match.
28 to 29 September: Clementi 448, then eat before they wash
Clementi 448 Market and Food Centre at 448 Clementi Avenue 3 closes 28 to 29 September. Clementi MRT is next door. The fried carrot cake stall at #01-45 is the one people queue for, black or white, $4, $5, or $6. It reopened with the rest of the centre on 29 June. New lights, extra fans, wheelchair spaces, bird netting. Two wash days at the end of the month are the price of that refresh. Eat there in the weeks after 15 September, when 353 Clementi Avenue 2 is already back, and before the 28th.
Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre at 3 Yung Sheng Road was listed 1 to 2 September. That window is already over. Teban Gardens Food Centre is not on the September islandwide list. West Coast Town Council has Teban down for 5 to 6 October, so keep that for next month.
School holidays make the September wash list longer than a normal month. The west-side pattern is still usable: Jurong East this coming week, 505 and Ayer Rajah mid-month, Pioneer and Bukit Batok West the weekend of the 21st, Clementi 448 the last weekend. If your usual stall is on this list, move the trip by two days instead of writing off the neighbourhood.
