Lights by the Lake ended on 4 October. The free public tours at Jurong Lake Gardens 裕廊湖花园 did not. NParks still runs them on the second and last Saturday of each month, rotating Lakeside Garden, Chinese Garden 裕华园, Japanese Garden 星和园, and the edible plots. The live list on the gardens site was updated 14 October 2026. Remaining dates run through 26 December.
You have to register. Walk-ups are not on the sheet. Registration opens a month ahead at 8am, and it closes three days before the tour or when the two sessions fill. A confirmation email comes at least three working days before. Wear walking shoes. Bring a hat, water, and a poncho. Light rain still goes ahead. Heavy rain does not.
What is left on the calendar
17 October, Saturday, 9am to 11am, is Lakeside Garden South. Meet at ActiveSG Park. Registration closes three days before, so only go if the confirmation email already landed. 31 October, same hours, is Lakeside Garden North. Meet at the Entrance Pavilion at the north carpark. Registration for that one opened 30 September.
14 November is the evening pair. Japanese Garden, 5pm to 7pm, outside Mempat Hall at Gardenhouse. Edible Garden at Chinese Garden, 5pm to 6.30pm, at the Grand Arch. Registration for both opened 14 October at 8am. 28 November, 8.30am to 10.30am, is Chinese Garden from the north carpark Entrance Pavilion. Registration opens 28 October at 8am.
12 December repeats the evening pattern. Lakeside Garden South 5pm to 7pm at ActiveSG Park, and Edible Garden 5pm to 6.30pm at the Grand Arch. Registration opens 12 November. 26 December, 8.30am to 10.30am, is Lakeside Garden North again from the north carpark. Registration opens 26 November.
The South route is the play and water side, Forest Ramble and Clusia Cove country. North is Rasau Walk, the grasslands, and the bird hide. Chinese Garden is pagodas, the Grand Arch, and the edible plots. Japanese Garden is the island, stone lanterns, and the Sunken Garden. Pick the evening slots in November and December if you want cooler air and the pagodas with some light left.
If you miss the booking
Lakeside Garden is open 24 hours. Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden run 5.30am to midnight. Grasslands and Neram Streams stay unlit after dark. Do not walk those bits at night. Forest Ramble and Clusia Cove close Monday for maintenance, except public holidays. Information counters at Pagoda Plaza, Water Lily Pavilion, and the Lakeside Entrance Pavilion are 8.30am to 6.30pm.
NParks is trialling a free garden shuttle on a loop. Stops are South Carpark, Water Lily Pavilion, Pagoda Plaza, North Carpark, and Lakeside Plaza. Hours are 9am to 12pm and 4pm to 7pm daily, about every 30 minutes, first departure from South Carpark. No pets, no food on board. Weather can kill a run. It is the practical way to stitch a South tour to the Twin Pagoda without a 20-minute walk in the heat.
Edible gardening still happens without a Saturday tour. Kitchen Garden is Wednesday 4pm to 6pm. Edible Demonstration Garden is Thursday 9am to 11am. Community composting is Saturday 9am to 10am. Email YEOW_Jie_Ying@nparks.gov.sg for the kitchen plot. Nearest stations are Lakeside and Chinese Garden. The tours page is the booking sheet. Do not treat a blog paraphrase as the live list.
