Kin Joe Coffee opened in early August 2026 at 23 Eng Kong Terrace #01-02, a short but real walk from Beauty World MRT. Owner Bryan Heng, 41, sold coffee from home from 2022, then from a pop-up cart. The shop is takeaway-first, with a few seats outside. HungryGoWhere's Evan Mua visited in August. Listed hours are 8.30am to 6pm on Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Confirm Tuesday to Thursday on Instagram @kinjoecoffee before you walk over. August's 30 percent off drinks is finished. September is full price.
The drinks that are not another flat white
Black coffee is S$5. White is S$5.50. Caramel and hazelnut lattes are S$6.50. Those are competent. You come for three cups. Matcha chendol is S$7.50, matcha with gula Melaka. It tastes like chendol with extra earth. Tiger Bomb is S$8, a ristretto with milk and cream, buried in grated orange zest, copied from Tone Coffee in Melbourne's Prahran. Silky, orange-heavy, easy to finish. Honey espresso tonic is S$7.50, espresso, sparkling tonic, Japanese honey. Floral, citrus, carbonated. That is the hot-day order.
Tiger Bomb is a cousin of Melbourne's Mont Blanc, which uses cold brew and heavy cream. Heng's version uses ristretto. If you hate orange zest in coffee, skip it. If you have been drinking the same oat latte at every Bukit Timah cafe, this is the reason to walk past Beauty World Centre instead of riding into town.
The cart years matter here. Heng already had a following from events before he signed a terrace lease. The staples should be consistent. The three signatures are the risk. Matcha and gula Melaka can collapse into syrup. Orange zest can taste like air freshener. Tonic can drown espresso. Mua liked all three. That is one visit. Your second cup will tell you if the shop holds after the opening discount dies.
Toastie, croffins, and the walk from the MRT
Kimchi cheese toastie is S$8.90, sourdough, kimchi, melted cheese. Acidity cuts fat. Focaccia is S$5.50. Madeleines are S$2.70. Croffins are S$4.50 in passion fruit curd, choco hazelnut, and matcha ganache. The croissant-muffin hybrid had a moment in the early 2020s and then vanished. The matcha ganache filling is thick. Pair it with the honey tonic, not another sweet latte.
Eng Kong Terrace is quiet. That is the point. No cars slamming past, no mall air-con. Paper lamps, wood, a small interior. You will not work here for four hours. You will take the cup back toward Beauty World Food Centre, or sit on the outdoor stools and leave. Beauty World already has Berempah Bros upstairs in the food centre. This is the coffee stop after the ayam berempah, not a brunch destination.
West-side speciality coffee still clusters around Holland Village and Bukit Timah proper. A cart-turned-shop on Eng Kong is the more useful September opening for people who already live off the Downtown Line. Check the board for beans. Check Instagram if you are coming on a Tuesday. Do not expect table service. Do not expect a toilet inside the kiosk. Bring cashless. If the stools are wet from rain, drink walking.
