Old-school halal western food run by a veteran couple, famed for chicken chop and deep-fried buns.
Uncle Neo Western at Keat Hong Shopping Centre is a charming old-school western food stall managed by an elderly Chinese couple who have been dishing up nostalgia in every plate.
Halal-certified and housed within a humble coffee shop at 253 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1, this neighbourhood gem has earned a loyal following for its classic chicken chop and unmistakable old-school sensibility — right down to the deep-fried bun that has all but vanished from modern western stalls.
The signature chicken chop comes with shoestring fries, coleslaw, baked beans, and that beloved deep-fried bun, all at a wallet-friendly price around $7.80. The fries are freshly fried to a golden brown, the coleslaw is handmade with crunchy cabbage, and the chicken is seasoned on the lighter side, making it a great option for those watching their sodium intake. It is honest, unpretentious food that reminds you of childhood western stalls. If you long for the days when western food meant deep-fried buns and simple, satisfying flavours, Uncle Neo Western is worth the trip to Keat Hong. It is a taste of yesteryear served by the very hands that have kept the tradition alive.
Have eaten from stall for many years at Choa Chu Kang Ave 1 Blk 253A,food standard and taste still the same but prices have increased( understandable due to raw ingredients prices have increased),I also buy the whole spring chicken or half spring chicken with rice, chicken cutlet. Will try other items at time.

I was curious about the long queue at this obscured western food stall and decided to try it for myself. Boy, was I richly rewarded with probably one of the better fried chickens I ever had in a heartland coffeeshop. The crispy and thickly coated batter on each of this chicken parts of my Lucky Plate, had me wolfing and tearing the meat apart in no time. The chicken cuts were big going by the standards of the Tenderfresh Chicken we had known so well. The flesh wasn't oily and it wasn't too dry too. The fried chickens as I had noticed were precooked and stacked to allow for the skin to set and cool. Which I guess, explains the goodness of its super crunchy fried chicken.

Old school western food like many say. Old charm. Tastes Old school. Really bring back good memories of eating comfort western food. Delicious and affordable too in today's time and price. Worthy to eat once in awhile because the food is greasy good. Fried chicken, butter rice, fries, chicken chop, wings, steak and their packet chili are reminiscent of the good old 90s.

Love their fish burger. The bun is soft and fluffy with melted cheeze. Chicken chop is tender too. They use chicken thigh!
