Classic Nanyang kopitiam with kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and local comfort food at Westgate.
Toast Box at Westgate brings the beloved Nanyang kopitiam experience to Jurong East, serving the iconic Singapore breakfast of crispy kaya toast, runny soft-boiled eggs, and robust traditional coffee in a warm, heritage-inspired setting.
Part of the BreadTalk Group's portfolio, this outlet combines consistent quality with the nostalgic charm of a 1960s coffee house — making it a natural meeting spot for shoppers and office workers alike.
Beyond the signature breakfast, the menu offers local comfort dishes including laksa, mee siam, curry chicken with rice, and traditional toasts with kaya, peanut, or butter sugar. The rich, aromatic coffee and tea, brewed the traditional way with a sock filter, remain the centrepiece — a full-bodied cup that embodies the soul of Singapore's kopitiam culture. Located at #02-02 on the second floor, it provides a convenient pause during a day of shopping at Westgate. For a taste of kopitiam heritage at Westgate, Toast Box delivers warmth and tradition in equal measure. It is Singapore's breakfast culture, served all day long.
Very slow bad service, the auntie missed my order and when I asked nicely if it was ready they just brushed me aside and said to wait and they are doing one order by one order. I waited for close to 20 minutes and more than 4 people behind me already got their order - and I had to go there and ask them again firmly. I came here to have a nice Friday evening but they completely ruined it. Please don't come here if you expect fast or good service. It's absolutely not acceptable.

I would like to share my feedback regarding Toast Box, especially the Westgate Mall outlet. The coffee is always served cold instead of hot. The staff response is very poor and lacks basic respect. While taking orders from customers, there is no patience shown at all. Because of this experience, my friends and I intentionally avoid going to the Westgate Mall Toast Box, even though it is nearby. We walk past the outlet every day and choose not to visit. Instead, we go to the Ya Kun Kaya Toast outlet at Westgate Basement, where the staff are very kind and polite. Overall, the service experience at the Westgate Mall Toast Box is very disappointing.

We visited Toast Box on a Monday afternoon, the walk-in wait was immediate. Ordered the Multigrain Peanut Toast Set ($6.80) and a hot Kopi ($2.30). Kopi and peanut toast is good, however my eggs were overcooked. This outlet doesn't serve coconut jelly or kopi jelly dessert, I didn't know and waited until 4pm to order. IMO it's worth a visit here for coffee break. This place is ideal for small to medium group size as there's limited indoor seats.

2024-09: Simple local food at a convenient location from the MRT and mall, with a view of the upcoming ITH site.
Often busy at peak times.
Food seems mostly prepared in advance fast food style, so not the place to go if you have higher expectations.
Rotating specials on advertised on sign boards outside.
Went to check in my curry...they had forgotten / missed it. Not the first time...not a busy time either.

Wanted to try their set meal. Arrived at 11am this morning and I was the the first one in the Q. I waited for more then 20 mins and the Indian lady staff at the counter was busy preparing some stuff and refused to serve. The Q is getting longer behind me and she didn't care. In the end, I walked away without ordering anything. The service at Ya Kun is better. Come here if only you have the time to wait and wait to place the order.
