Janggut Laksa is the original Katong Laksa, a name synonymous with Singapore's laksa heritage since the 1950s.

The Queensway Shopping Centre outpost brings its signature coconut-based laksa — fragrant, lemak and served with chopped noodles so you eat it with a spoon alone — to the western side of Singapore.

The stall keeps the recipe faithful to its Katong roots: a rich, spicy coconut broth ladled over tau pok, fish cake, cockles and shredded chicken, topped with a sprig of laksa leaf. It is a no-frills, queue-worthy plate that has earned its place in Singapore's hawker legend.
