Handmade traditional tutu kueh with over 80 years of heritage, now at Bukit Panjang Plaza.

Chinatown Tan's Tutu Kueh at Bukit Panjang Plaza carries forward a snack tradition spanning over 80 years, originally founded by Tan Yong Fa and now lovingly run by his daughter Tan Bee Hua.

Every piece of tutu kueh is handmade from scratch — even the fillings — with rice flour hand-pounded to stay true to the snack's origins as a light, delicate steamed cake served on a fragrant pandan leaf.

Choose from peanut, coconut, original (plain), and chocolate fillings, each delivering a pillowy-soft bite with a satisfying crunch or sweetness at the centre. The stall also offers cup corn and muah chee, adding variety to its traditional offerings. It is a snack worth the wait — regulars gladly queue 15 to 30 minutes for freshly steamed batches that are still warm and wonderfully chewy. For a taste of old Singapore that has endured through generations, Chinatown Tan's Tutu Kueh is an essential stop. It is heritage you can hold in your hand — one tiny, steaming kueh at a time.
